ANDROID KOTLIN DEVELOPER

Jeddah, Saudi Arabia | 3–4 Years’ Experience | Full-Time

POSITION SUMMARY

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Android Kotlin Developer with 3–4 years of professional experience to join our technology team in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.

The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience in Kotlin and Android application development, with a solid understanding of modern Android architecture, APIs, databases, testing, and application performance. The candidate will work closely with product managers, UI/UX designers, backend developers, and QA engineers to deliver high-quality mobile applications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

* Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality Android applications using Kotlin.
* Build scalable, reliable, and user-friendly mobile applications following modern Android development practices.
* Develop applications using Android SDK, Android Studio, Jetpack, and Kotlin Coroutines.
* Implement modern Android architecture patterns such as MVVM, Clean Architecture, and Repository patterns.
* Develop and integrate RESTful APIs and backend services.
* Work with networking libraries such as Retrofit and OkHttp.
* Implement responsive and reusable UI components using Jetpack Compose and/or XML layouts.
* Work with Room Database, SQLite, or other local data-storage technologies.
* Implement authentication, push notifications, deep linking, and third-party SDK integrations.
* Optimize applications for performance, stability, memory usage, and battery efficiency.
* Write clean, maintainable, reusable, and well-documented code. Perform unit testing, UI testing, debugging, and troubleshooting.
* Identify and resolve application crashes, bugs, and production issues.
* Participate in code reviews and maintain coding standards and best practices.
* Use Git/GitHub/GitLab for source control and collaborative development.
* Collaborate with backend developers to ensure seamless API integration.
* Work closely with QA teams to identify and resolve defects before release.
* Support application deployment and publishing through the Google Play Store.
* Stay updated with the latest Android technologies, libraries, security practices, and development trends.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
* 3–4 years of hands-on professional experience in Android development.
* Strong proficiency in Kotlin.
* Solid knowledge of Android SDK and Android Studio.
* Strong understanding of Android application lifecycle, activities, fragments, services, and background processing.
* Experience with Jetpack components such as ViewModel, LiveData/StateFlow, Navigation, Room, and WorkManager.
* Good understanding of Kotlin Coroutines and Flow.
* Experience implementing MVVM and/or Clean Architecture.
* Hands-on experience with REST APIs and JSON.
* Experience with Retrofit, OkHttp, or equivalent networking libraries.
* Experience with Jetpack Compose and/or XML-based UI development.
* Good knowledge of Git and version-control practices.
* Understanding of mobile application security and secure API communication.
* Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Good communication and teamwork abilities.

PREFERRED SKILLS

* Experience with Jetpack Compose and modern Android UI development.
* Experience with Firebase services, including Firebase Cloud Messaging, Crashlytics, Analytics, and Remote Config.
* Experience with Dependency Injection frameworks such as Hilt or Dagger.
* Knowledge of Room Database and offline-first application development.
* Experience with Google Maps SDK and location-based services.
* Experience integrating payment gateways or third-party SDKs.
* Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines for Android applications.
* Experience with automated testing using JUnit, Mockito, Espresso, or similar frameworks.
* Knowledge of Android performance profiling and optimization.
* Experience publishing and managing applications on Google Play Console.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

The ideal candidate should be a proactive and technically strong Android developer who can take ownership of mobile application development, work effectively with cross-functional teams, and deliver secure, stable, and high-performing applications.

Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail, a commitment to code quality, and the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues.

Preferred: Candidates currently based in Saudi Arabia or those willing to relocate to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
