We are looking for an ambitious and technically capable C++ Developer to join us at an exciting stage in the development of a pioneering cybersecurity threat-detection platform.

You will work directly under the supervision and mentorship of an exceptionally experienced Senior C++ Engineer and technical architect. You'll gain exposure to sophisticated C++ development and the design of high-performance security technology.

This is not a maintenance role or a conventional software development position. You will be joining while the technology and the business are scaling. You'll have the opportunity to contribute to a product with significant commercial ambitions and the potential for a future profitable exit.

What you'll be doing
- Developing and enhancing software, primarily in modern C++.
- Working closely with our senior C++ technical lead on architecture, implementation and optimisation.
- Contributing to the continued development of our cyber threat-detection technology.
- Writing efficient, reliable and maintainable production-quality code.
- Debugging and optimising complex applications.
- Working with multithreading, networking, memory management and performance-critical code where appropriate.
- Collaborating with the wider technical team as the platform develops and scales.
- Learning advanced C++ techniques directly from a highly experienced practitioner.

Who we're looking for

You are likely to have around 2–3 years of commercial C++ development experience and a strong desire to become an exceptional C++ engineer. We are particularly interested in candidates with strong fundamentals rather than simply an impressive list of technologies.

Knowledge of the following would be advantageous:
- C++17/20/23 and the STL
- Object-oriented programming and templates
- Concurrency
- Linux
- Git
- Networking
- Debugging tools

Previous cybersecurity experience would be valuable but is not essential if you have excellent C++ capabilities and a genuine interest in security technology.
